In The Writer's World

I love being invited to talk at a book group, and Monday night was no exception.

This particular book group is located out in my old Yamhill County stompin’ grounds. It’s a women’s group, but due to the specialness of the occasion (moi) many husbands showed up as well. About 20 people including one very good friend,  several acquaintances from the past, and a second cousin. There was plenty of wine and a table full of wonderful snacks.

Most of the members had read both books in the Emma Golden mystery series, so rather than a reading, we did Q&A for more than an hour. These folks were engaged. The questions were great. And we even got to talk about a lot of other authors, both mystery and non-mystery.bookgroup This definitely was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.

If you area  member of a book group within 40 miles of Portland, give a holler–email me or leave a message on Facebook. I’d be happy to attend your meeting at a mutually agreed upon time to talk about the Emma Golden mystery series, answer your questions, and even give you a few clues as to what’s going on in Emma’s life for Book #3 of the series.

There’s nothing to stop us from having as much fun as I had with these wonderful people on Monday night!

I can second it that we had a lovely time. The members brought wine or nibbles to try. The discussion was so much fun to actually get Judy’s insights and explanations. We’ ll have to do it again for Emma #3.
